I shortened it, but the Spirit is referring to a "genius loci" not the plural of locus. I mean, tangentially, he's referring to that as well... But that will be explained as we explore more Blindsprings in future!

 

There are a couple more pages to go before we hit the second run of annotations-- does anyone have burning questions that are benign, rather than "please tell us what happened to the spirits"-- if you think it's part of the storyline (it's probably part of the storyline...)
